Based in Nairobi the Kenyan capital, AFSAE is a professional community of association executives and a voice of association profession in Africa.
Following a week long engagement with the Ugandan professional associations and the Uganda Convention Bureau (UCB) in Kampala, the AFSAE Ugandan Chapter was formed on Friday December 8, 2023, with an objective of fostering the domestic association’s community agenda with the main forum.
The local Chapter formation was premised on democratic election of its substantive interim leadership to steer forward the ship.
As a leading strategic partner and energizer to the AFSAE Ugandan Chapter activities, the Uganda Convention Bureau (UCB), a government body mandated with marketing and promoting Uganda as a MICE destination through collaboration with private sector and other stake holders, witnessed the process and heaped appreciation on the elected team captains.
Engineer Julius Ceaser Kintu from the Uganda National Institute of Professional Engineers was elected the president for AFSAE Ugandan Chapter during the process that was presided over by two of AFSAE representatives; Jeffers Miruka and Johannes Mutiku. Our very own Ms. Anita Kejaji from the Uganda Dental Association (UDA) was elected the chapter’s Secretary while Mr. Eugene Mubiru from the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) was elected the Treasurer
Associations included were the Uganda National Institute of Professional Engineers (UNIPE), Uganda Dental Association (UDA), Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA), Uganda Local Government Association (ULGA), Uganda National Association of Private Hospitals, Uganda Travel Bureau (UTB), Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda, Uganda Fish Processors and Exporters Association (UFPEA), Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (CPA Uganda), Inter Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU), Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry , Uganda Hotel Owners Association (UHOA), Trade Association Forum of Uganda (TAFU) and Uganda Small Scale Industries Association (USSIA).
The formation of AFSAE Ugandan Chapter is an enabler to all membership based associations to find prompt linkage and interface with a wider African professional association’s community around a number of issues of mutual benefit.
